c1780/90 The Georgraph of England & Wales. An early edition of this pastime likely to be published by J. Wallis There is a game - The Geography of England and Wales was produced in 1799. These cards contain the much of the some of the same information ie Boundaries, Extent, Principle Towns and Rivers, but in a less clear format. This edition also records the number of parishes and the number of MP sent to parliament. There are some material differences in the size of the county - ie the size of Northumberland described as 60 by 40 (rather than 70 by 50 in John Wallis's 1799 version) There are copies of the 1799 version in V&A, Bodlian and Yale Libraries. These cards are earlier (having a long S) and we can find no reference to this version.
The Geograph of England & Wales - Condition / Cards are very good (virtually unused), (49/52) - three counties are missing. No rules or wrapper but a photocopy of the rules for a later version is included, Postage / As postage often changes. Postage will be at cost rounded up to the nearest £1.00 to cover packingGO TO TOP

1799 - Geography of England and Wales. The cards were published by J. Wallis 16 Ludgate Street Sept 26th 1799 The cards contain the information about each county ie Boundaries, Extent, Principle Towns and Rivers and list the details under fixed sub-headings. There are copies of a 1799 version in V&A, Bodleian and Yale libaries. The printer is James Harrison, Printer, Warwick Court, Lane (V&A and Yale - Bodleian unknown). This version is printed by J Swan, 76 Fleet Street. There are very small differences between the two printing ie the design of the border, and some numbers are printed digitally while others are verbalised (ie 10 or ten), but the information is exactly the same. These cards are in their original box with the original rule sheet.
The Geography of England & Wales - Condition / Cards are good, some use but no damage / Rules have been backed onto a paper reenforcement - there is some text missing on the LHS (a photocopy of the rules by James Harrison is included for completeness) / Box is scuffed and rubbed but completeGO TO TOP
